About Lighthouse Point
Lighthouse Point, Florida is a true boating community with over 18 miles of navigable waterways. Named after the Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse which connects the Intracoastal to the Ocean, Lighthouse Point is located west of Hillsboro Beach, and north of Pompano Beach. Lighthouse Point is a mostly residential city with a large percentage of the homes being waterfront. Twenty acres of parks adds to the beauty of the city. Cap's Place located in Lighthouse Point is Broward County's oldest restaurant. This landmark establishment was first created as a rum-running speakeasy and casino back in the 1920's. Nowadays guests park their cars and then travel by boat to the island restaurant for great food and scenic views of the Intracoastal. Many residents in the surrounding area are members of the Lighthouse Point Yacht and Racquet Club. Here members socialize among the extensive marine which houses a large number of boats and yachts. Lighthouse Point is a short 20 minute drive from the Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood International Airport.
