About Dania Beach
Dania Beach is a small 6 square mile coastal town located just south of Fort Lauderdale. Many people drive right through Dania Beach without ever knowing they were there. John U. Lloyd State Park is home to Dania Beach. The park located on a barrier island between the Atlantic Ocean and Intracoastal canal is a favorite spot among locals during the weekends. Resident are able to beach their boat in a protected canal inside the park and then utilize the bbq's, public beach, kayaks and restauarant. This mangrove park is nice oasis from the surrounding cities. If you have never seen a a game of Jai Alai Dania Beach is one of the few places you can view it in the U.S. Fans bet on this fast paced game in which players throw a hard ball in excess of a 100 mph on a 3 sided court. Some consider it the fastest game in the world. Poker and simulcast betting is also available the at the Jai Alai facility located on Dania Beach Boulevard. If you a fan of fishing you must check out the Internation Game Fish Association otherwise known as the IGFA. This museum located in Dania the holy grale for fishing enthusiast. Visitors can fish on the interactive simulators, educate themselves on salt water fishing and check out the current world record fish that have been caught. If you have kids you might also want to check out Boomers amusement park. Boomers has go karts, 6 mini golf courses, laser tag, bumper boats, batting cages, and of course lots and lots of video games. Although Dania Beach is a small city it definately has some worth while places to visit.
