About Delray Beach
The undeniable charm of Delray Beach Florida has recently made it a thriving tourist destination and cultural center. Located just north of Boca Raton Florida and south of Palm Beach, the city of Delray Beach offers a ton of activities. Delray's two miles of public beach attract over a million visitors a year for good reason. Even with a million visitors a year the beaches here feel uncrowded, quiet, and peaceful. Many consider these beaches on the Atlantic Ocean some of the nicest in South Florida. Cabana service is available at many of the public entrances. In 2010 Delray was finalist of the Top 10 Tennis Towns thanks in part to the Delray Beach Tennis Center. This public tennis center includes 14 clay courts, 7 hard courts, and an 8,200 seat stadium all in the heart of downtown Delray. Atlantic Avenue is definately considered the heart and center of Delray Beach. This thriving boulevard offers more than just cafe's, restaurants, and shops. Of recent Delray has inspired and ecouraged galleries and artists to open up shop here. There are currently over 20 art galleries in Downtown Delray. At the center of the arts scene is the Old School Square Cultural Arts Center. This converted early 20th century school house currently has rotating exhibitions of visual arts and the 323 seat Crest Theatre hosts a variety of performing arts. Downtown Delray is also known for hosting a large number of events and festivals. Some of them include the arts and crafts shows, garlic show, Forth of July festiviteis, farmers market and hoiday festivities to name a few. The Morikami Museum and Japanes Gardens is one of Delray's many fabulous parks. There are six breathtaking Japanese gardens spread out on acres of beautifully manicured land.
